1: Batman WON'T fight fair: I know everyone thinks I mean the freaking gadgets, but I don't. It's also not JUST the kryptonite ring, it's just everything. Batman won't fight him 1-on-1, he'll get backup. I know everyone's going to say, "BUT THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A MANO-A-MANO FIGHT," but screw it. That's the whole point of the Bat-family. He nearly always has some form of sidekick or partner to fight along side him, while superman would be too worried for whoever he'd be partnered with to even bring them along.
2: Batman WON'T hold back: Just listen to Superman's "World of Cardboard" speech. Superman is ALWAYS the strongest thing in the universe (bar some deities that he comes across), but he will always hold back to avoid destroying everything & everyone. Batman has the opposite problem, & that's how he's able to sit along side the titans that make up the Justice League. He will always put out 100% and beyond if possible, while Supes would only use what he thinks he needs.
3: Batman's got the CLEAR advantage in skill: While you could say that Superman could spend a few minutes reading 100 dozen books on all of the skills Bats has to beat him, batman has spent his entire life learning those skills. If Superman does ever attack, you know he's going to have to get past all of those skills first. What's worse is that Batman has ways to temporarily give him superhuman strength to combat with superman, even if it isn't the same level as his he can still cause quite a bit of damage before having to abandon whatever's giving it to him. It's the skill that gives him the ability to damage superman even if he doesn't even have strength near the same level.
4: Batman's ALWAYS got a contingency plan prepared: Before everyone gives me flak because there's supposed to be NO plan time for Batman, I have to tell you that he already used it. Before the fight commenced, Batman would have already prepared for if superman EVER turned evil & just added to that plan in between now & then. He already admitted that he had plans for each member of the Justice League prepped, but Superman would have been the most thought out for nearly every possibility & will obviously make it much easier for him to use it in BOTH of the towns this fight would happen, Gotham & Metropolis.
5: Batman's got FREAKING KRYPTONITE: This is the main reason that everyone will choose Batman, but I'm using it because he knows how to use it. Of course, he mainly uses it as a ring to both weaken The Man of Steel, but to also smash his own hand with each hit. I choose this because I know Batman is anything BUT an idiot, and I know that he'd adapt after not beating Superman with it. My best guess of what he'd use is a dart with a needle made out of it (allows it to pass through Superman's skin) & mix a melted version of it with some form of sedatives to not only severely poison him, but to knock him out too. Even if Superman tried to get closer to the sun, you know Bats would think of that & find a way to keep him as far from it as possible.
I choose Batman because Batman's the ultimate choice
2. Interference, and Gadgets: Superman has gadgets too. Only difference is, his can end worlds. Superman has family as well mate. Power Girl, and Super girl. Both easily capable of the same planet destruction he is. If batman brings his family, Supes gets to bring his. It would be over before it ever even was conceived possible.
3. Skill: Superman is a master of martial arts. He has studied most everything there is, and if he doesn't, he can just learn it. Superman has fought superhumans since he was young. Learning how to deal with bigger and badder, and much more powerful enemies than Bats from an early age. Superman is a master of several martial arts, each one incredibly devastating. He's received training from Wonderwoman, His father, and even Batman. He has consistently shown to be extremely skilled in fighting, and knows what to do and when.
4.Contingency plan: Do you honestly believe, that Superman doesn't have one for Batman? Honestly.
5.Kryptonite: Kryptonite Man, and Metallo. Superman fights people build, and composed of it. The only reason it works when Batman uses it, is because the writers want it too. Even then, when Batman used it to fight Superman, he admitted two things. One, that despite using it, Superman could have killed him at any moment if he wanted to. The second, was that he broke his first on the first punch. Despite having Supes weakened.
6.HE'S THE GODDAMN SUPERMAN: See how annoying that is? It's not a reason someone would win. It's stupid. Just because he's THE BATMAN, doesn't mean shit. Give Superman an hour in Gotham, and every single villain would be defeated. Bane was able to kick Bats's ass. Superman beat the living hell out of Bane, with no effort, at all.
7.Intelligence: Superman processes, and thinks faster than any human being is capable of. Batman may be smart, but Superman is smarter. Batman admits it in one comic. Superman knows ways to improve on almost everything Batman has made, he's just polite and doesn't say it out loud. You're pitting a calculator vs a Supercomputer. A Supercomputer that can launch nukes.
Let me ask you this, WHO took down darkseid? Our boy in blue? nope, the gray & blue won that one.
I don't doubt superman's abilities, I just can't see him winning. WHY would superman want to kill batman, did he blow up metropolis? did he kill lois? did he fund superman IV?
supes let bruce keep the ring because he knew that he was the only one that could take him down. there's a reason he's known as the deadliest man alive, there's a reason he's feared by the other members of the JLA. Sure, superman can think & react faster & he might be the better one in the fight, but batman would win the war
I don't know why he would want to. Let's say this is an evil Superman, or one who is simply to pissed off to think. Boom. You got a guy who can punch, and explode a continent, if he wanted too.
And your right. Superman lets Batman win. Every time. Batman always says, Superman lets him win.
If he wasn't willing to let it slide anymore, full on Death fight. It's Superman. Without a shadow of a doubt, Batman would be dead with a sneeze.
let's say it's an evil superman, the guardians would no doubt send the ENTIRE corps after him. they'd recognize the severe threat that this would put on the universe & terminate him
batman regularly fights guys that are anything but predictable, with superman it's always the same thing with each guy. the only one you could really argue for is luthor, but he's pretty much always flipping a coin between attempting to kill superman or take over the world and he nearly ALWAYS gives up the second he's found. batman's got the adaptability advantage
there were instances in the comics (not written by miller) where superman WAS beaten by bats. there was even one where he KILLED HIM.
Lastly, batman DOESN'T have to kill superman to beat him. it's like saying a single man can survive the entire world's supply of nukes, I admit it's impossible. He's already won by just being able to stand up to superman
Not Superman vs the World.
Superman has beaten the Green Lanterns before.
The only one of them that could possibly be a threat is Hal Jordan.
The others are shit by comparison.
Superman could easily kill the rest of the League, and anyone else.
He sun dips for fifteen minutes, comes back with enough power to blow up the planet, and move planets with ease. All he has to do is flick, and the League is dead.
Superman has fought incredible powerful beings, above and beyond anything Batman could ever possibly handle.
In the Red Son storyline he managed to defeat pretty much every single hero sent after him.
He has beaten the Likes of Braniac, time and time again. Gods fall before him when he walks. Planets tear apart when he sneezes. He could easily, easily, destroy them all.
Also, I'm sure some of those heroes, would side with him. Some villains might too.
Even if the Lantern Corps sends people, who's to say Superman does get help from the Yellow Lanterns, or even the Red?
You wrote so much i wont even begin to debate this topic...
But batman has no chance... Unless the scales are tipped so unrealistically in his favor... For some one that can move faster than the speed of light... The world must be a real slow place to exist in... Planning or not.... Help or not... If both went all out... with killing intent it would be over before it had started. Fact.
Batman is a man... well trained... with some handy gadgets... compare that to superman.... no competition.... unless all is taken into account that you have listed above... Change superman from limiting him self and none of the above is relevant.... Well in my opinion anyway.

even if superman kills him, bats will still win because then it'd be superman vs the world (I call it the L backup plan)
